Hildale, UT – Water Canyon High School is preparing to send its Class of 2026 into the world, with Principal Jonathan Howell confirming 49 total graduates are on track to receive diplomas this spring — a number that reflects steady growth for the southern Utah institution.

The milestone follows a school year filled with standout performances across academics, arts, and athletics. Howell said the class leaves behind a legacy defined by resilience, leadership, and community service.

Among the most notable academic achievements, WCHS recorded its highest ACT scores in school history this year. Eight students also qualified as Sterling Scholars, representing Water Canyon at the District and Region Competition. Of the 49 graduates, 27 have indicated plans to continue their education or serve their country, with commitments spanning technical schools, colleges, universities, and branches of the U.S. Military.

On the athletic front, the Boys Cross Country team finished fourth in the state, with Josiah Thompson earning a third-place individual finish — one of the top performances in school history. The school also celebrated state playoff wins in football, volleyball, and girls basketball. The WCHS choir added to the celebration by qualifying for the State Solo & Ensemble Festival.

Principal Howell had this to say about the graduating class: “The Water Canyon High School Class of 2026 represents a resilient and determined group of students who have left a lasting mark on our school and community. Throughout their time at WCHS, these graduates have demonstrated a commitment to academic growth, meaningful involvement in activities, and service to their community. They have navigated personal challenges with perseverance and embraced opportunities to lead, compete, and contribute. As they move on to college, careers, military service, and other pursuits, we are confident they will continue to make a positive impact and represent Water Canyon High School with pride.”

Graduation Ceremony — Save the Date: The Water Canyon High School Class of 2026 Graduation will be held on  Monday, May 18, 2026 at 7:30 PM on the ball fields. The entire Water Canyon community is warmly invited to come out and celebrate this special evening with the graduates and their families.
