Colorado City, AZ – Colorado City residents are celebrating the arrival of a new retail hub dedicated entirely to animal care, launched by two entrepreneurial sisters. Falicity Black, owner of Rex and Dozers Animal Supply, and her sister, Amber Black, the owner of the new grooming salon K9 Cuts, have opened neighboring businesses at 40 W. Township, Colorado City, AZ, creating a one-stop destination for local pet owners.
The journey began with Falicity Black’s vision for Rex and Dozers, established just four months ago on July 18, 2025.
“One day, while driving out of town just to pick up dog food, we realized we probably weren’t the only ones making that trip,” said Falicity Black. “That’s when the idea hit us: why not bring it here? My mission was to provide everything the community needs to care for their animals, right here in town.”
After rapidly outgrowing its initial space, the supply business moved from a small shed near the highway to its current, much larger location on October 18th.
A Partnership Under One Roof
The new location at 40 W. Township is split, allowing both sisters to launch their complementary ventures. While Rex and Dozers provide feed and supplies, Amber Black’s K9 Cuts will handle all professional grooming needs, operating from the second door of the building and projected to open within the next few weeks.
The synergy between the two businesses is a major win for the community, a convenience highlighted by local customer Diane Allen.
“It’s amazing,” says Diane Allen. “I can drop off my dogs for their grooming appointment at K9 Cuts. Having both Amber and Falicity here saves me so much time and a whole lot of driving!”
Expanded Inventory for All Creatures
The new space allows Rex and Dozers Animal Supply to carry a wider variety of feed and essentials for a diverse range of animals, including:
Livestock such as Horses and Chickens
Household pets like Dogs, Cats, and Rabbits
Falicity Black confirmed the store is actively working to expand their inventory to include products for small animals such as reptiles, rodents, and fish in the near future.
Rex and Dozers Animal Supply’s current hours are 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
