COLORADO CITY, AZ – Mohave Community College’s Colorado City Campus celebrated its students’ accomplishments at the Student Recognition Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 29th. The event, attended by students, their families, friends, and college staff, highlighted outstanding achievements both inside and outside the classroom.
The ceremony recognized students across a range of categories, including:
Dean’s List: Students Donna Dutson, Peter Dutson, Reuben Hammon, Shaina Jessop, Heather Johns, Rylie Lee, Ayden Miller, McKenna Naylor, Lexus Nielson, Jillian Schubert, Emma Timpson, Pauline Timpson, and Naomi Zitting were honored for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits during the 2024-2025 Fall Semester.
Outstanding Achievement Awards: Faculty and staff nominated students at all stages of their educational journeys for this award, which recognizes academic excellence. The recipients were Anita Black (Pre-College Studies), Lydia Bradshaw, Carson Dockstader, Marcelo Paredes (Business), Madisyn Beal, Kosha Swapp (Nursing), and Jenielle Timpson (Psychology).
Pinnacle Awards: Graduates Jessica Biasi, Stephen Darveau, Shauna Keisling, Arianna Melchor, McKenna Naylor, Miranda Spackeen, and Kosha Swapp were recognized for excelling in scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and service to MCC, while maintaining a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
All-Arizona Academic Team: Morgan Knudson received this recognition, which includes a tuition scholarship from the Arizona Board of Regents for top community college transfer students who demonstrate academic excellence and community service.
The Anthony Dominguez Student Leader of the Year Award: Casandra Perrodin received this award, named after the late MCC student Anthony Dominguez, which recognizes a student who embodies an appreciation for diversity and mutual respect.
Campus Dean’s Award of Excellence: Kosha Swapp and Casandra Perrodin were honored for their scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and service.
The ceremony celebrated the diverse achievements and contributions of the students, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and service.
