Hildale, UT – City leaders wanted the entrance to town to reflect the warmth and pride Hildale is known for, and that vision is now a reality with the installation of beautiful new welcome signs marking the gateways into the community.

First impressions matter, and the new signage demonstrates Hildale’s commitment to creating an inviting entrance that reflects the pride, spirit, and values shared throughout the community. The signs stand as a lasting symbol of who Hildale is and what it hopes visitors will feel the moment they arrive.

A Project Built on Partnership

None of this would have been possible without the Hildale City Council, whose shared vision and commitment to investing in the community helped bring the project to life from concept to completion.

The city also extends its sincere appreciation to the Washington County Commissioners and the America 250 initiative for their partnership and support. Together, these partnerships helped create a welcoming entrance that honors Hildale’s heritage, celebrates its community, and reflects its values for generations to come.

Securing funding for the project required direct outreach to county leadership. A letter was written to the Washington County Commissioners outlining the importance of the signs to the community, and in response, the commissioners awarded $10,000 toward the project. From there, that initial funding was stretched significantly further thanks to the generosity of local partners who donated time, labor, and materials.

The Hands Behind the Project

A number of local businesses and community members contributed their skills and time to make the signs a reality:

Liston Metal Works crafted the wording and lettering featured on the signs. Prime Excavating handled the rock setting that gives the signs their solid, natural foundation. Backyard Services donated their time and labor to complete all of the landscaping surrounding the signs. An anonymous donor generously provided the lighting that illuminates the signs day and night. JNJ also donated their labor for the landscaping work on the additional sign located at Uzona.

It was this combination of county funding and generous in-kind donations of labor and materials that allowed the $10,000 award to go much further than it otherwise could have, ultimately bringing multiple welcome signs to fruition rather than just one.

A Gateway the Community Can Be Proud Of

The result is more than just signage. It’s a true gateway into Hildale, one that captures the warmth and identity of a community that prides itself on making people feel at home. From the council members who championed the project, to the county commissioners who invested in it, to the local businesses and anonymous donors who gave their time and resources, the new welcome signs stand as a shared accomplishment for the entire community.

Hildale residents and visitors alike can now drive into town and see, right from the entrance, exactly what the city has always stood for: a true welcome home.
