Hildale City Manager Terminated; City Assures Continuity of Services
HILDALE, UT – The Hildale City Council has terminated the employment of City Manager Eric Duthie. The decision, made following information that came to light during the city’s annual audit, has prompted an internal investigation.
Mayor Jessop, in a statement provided to this publication, assured residents that the city is operating smoothly during this transition. “Since November, we have been operating with the support of 5 County Association of Government and our Local Administration Advisor, ensuring continuity in the City’s operations,” Mayor Jessop stated. “The mayor has taken on administrative duties prescribed by state statute and within local ordinances. Essential functions continue to be managed effectively.”
The termination of Duthie stemmed from issues discovered during the annual audit, which prompted further scrutiny. “As part of our annual audit, certain information came to light that warranted further investigation,” Mayor Jessop explained. “Pending the completion of both last year’s audit and an internal audit, a full report will be provided to the council. Our priority remains transparency, accountability, and maintaining the smooth operation of city services.”
The mayor emphasized the council’s active involvement in the ongoing process. “The council has been actively involved with this process,” she said. “Our priority is ensuring the city’s operations remain efficient and transparent.”
While details of the audit findings and the internal investigation remain undisclosed, the city is committed to providing a comprehensive report once the audits are completed. Residents are assured that essential city services will continue uninterrupted during this period. Attempts to reach former City Manager Eric Duthie for comment were unsuccessful.
