Hildale, UT – The Creek Valley Condors mountain bike team, now in its fifth year, kicked off the season on August 16th with an impressive showing at Soldier Hollow, a course known for its grueling elevation gain and challenging terrain. According to team coach Mandy Timpson, the team is “not for the weak,” and they proved it by securing five podium finishes in their first race.
The Soldier Hollow course is a true test of endurance, with riders climbing 700 feet over a 5.3-mile loop. Despite the demanding conditions, the Condors showcased their strength and determination, with athletes giving their all on the epic track.
The team’s success was highlighted by four podium spots in the Devo group for middle school riders:
In the 7th-grade beginner division, Bryson Zitting took home first place, and teammate Dakota Naylor finished strong in third.
The 8th-grade beginner division saw Darian Dockstader land on the top of the podium in first place, while Cyril Bradshaw finished close behind in fourth.
The Condors’ success continued with the high school teams, where Alexander Timpson battled his way to a fifth-place finish in the Junior Varsity C race, earning the only high school podium for the team.
The Condors left everything on the trail, demonstrating the grit and commitment that will define their season. Their strong performance at Soldier Hollow sets a high bar for the rest of the year.
