Colorado City Municipal Airport Expands with New Hangar Construction

COLORADO CITY, AZ – The Colorado City Municipal Airport (4AZ1) is undergoing a major expansion with the construction of new hangars aimed at increasing its capacity and enhancing services. This project will address the growing demand for aircraft storage and maintenance, while providing significant economic benefits to the surrounding community.
The new hangars will provide additional space, accommodating a variety of aircraft—from smaller planes to larger business jets. This expansion is expected to attract more aviation-related businesses and improve services for current users.
“I’ve been working on these hangars for the last several years. Finally, I received the approvals from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration),” said Ladell Bistline Sr., Airport Manager.
The added capacity not only strengthens the airport’s infrastructure but also positions it as a more appealing destination for businesses and visitors, potentially boosting tourism and local economic activity.
“This expansion is exciting. It’s been in the works for many years, and there’s been a growing demand for hangar space here at Colorado City Airport,” said Darlene Stubbs, an Airport Advisory Board member
Construction is already underway, and additional hangars are expected to begin construction later this year.
